Slumping and Draping Mold Index
These molds are cast from ceramic slip, vented and fired to maturity. Molds need to be prepared with glass separator or paper before using. With care these molds are reusuable many times. Its a good idea to take fine sand paper to the mold before you first use it. This will sand off any imperfections in the mold.
Tips For Working With Molds:
1. Elevate molds with kiln post for good circulation
2. Ceramic molds need to have holdes drilled to vent air
3. Lightly sand ceramic molds with very fine sandpaper to remove imperfections so you get a nice smooth finish
4. Apply shelf wash to molds so glass wont's stick (stainless steel is harder to prepare but will last longer than ceramic)
