Solder is available in four different types.
60/40 (60% Tin and 40% Lead) and
50/50 (50% Tin and 50% Lead)
63/37 (63% Tin and 37% Lead)
Lead-free Solder- Pewter Finish
60/40 melts at a low temperature and
50/50 is generally used for lead work.
These products are sold in 1 lb. spools for ease and convenience.
Good quality solder is essential.
